Fender rock guards

Honda Civic Type R FL5 · 2023-present · WGM-001

The FL5 Type R opened large vents in the front fenders and left them empty. Tyres throw stones straight through onto the side panels. These guards sit in the factory opening with a hexagonal mesh, a 3 mm step at the lower clip, and a top cutout so the insert sits flush in the side groove. No body cuts. Honda clip 91512-SX0-003 for install.

The FL5 vents look factory-finished until the first gravel road. High-end cars put mesh in openings like this. Honda did not. We started from a community file, then rebuilt the contour around the real vent: the 3 mm step at the bottom clip, the lip at the top, and a honeycomb that stays stiff without becoming a solid plate.

Seven printed fits later the guard sits flat instead of making the clip take the extra thickness. PETG and ASA hold up behind the wheel better than PLA. A 0.6 mm nozzle is the happier print; 0.4 mm still works.
